SUFEO! represents youth from various schools in New Orleans who are being suspended or expelled. When students are pushed out of school, they are more likely to be picked up by the criminal justice system. This further imbeds the School to Prison Pipeline that national organizations, such as ACLU and NAACP, currently advocate against. During the 2010-2011 school year, SUFEO saw roughly 21 cases. A vast majority of the cases were resolved with intervention at the school level. SUFEO also provided technical assistance to neighboring parishes.
